Open-source dataset for control-oriented modelling in diesel engines

Control-oriented modelling of engines is important for the real-time control of diesel vehicles. A suitable open-source dataset from test bench for engine modelling is provided in this page. The dataset is collected under the European Transient Cycle (ETC), which includes three typical conditions, namely, urban areas (front part), suburbs (middle part) and roads (last part), representing three types of low, medium and high speeds, respectively (each with a duration of 600 s), where the entire cycle duration is 1800 s. The sampling period of the data is 0.1 seconds. Each parameter has 18000 sample points, with a total of seven parameters and 126000 sample points. The dataset is organized into a mat file, which can be opened with the MATLAB software. In the mat file, the selected output signal is torque, and the selected input signals are speed, accelerator pedal signal (APS), FIR, SOI, air intake mass (AIM) and rail pressure (RP). The advantage of the dataset is that they originate from a transient electric dynamometer and cover the measurements of the critical parameters, a wide range of working conditions and sufficient sampling points.
